What I Packed for Spain

Soon, I’m heading to Spain for 3 weeks!

I’m excited to stroll through the Spanish streets, eat paella, drink sangria, and visit many museums. On this trip, I’m only taking a carry-on with me. I love traveling with one bag because it prevents me from overpacking. Plus, it forces me to be creative with my outfit choices, since I have to think of multiple ways to rotate through my limited amount of clothing.

Stay tuned for Spain posts and to see what I will *actually* end up wearing, since things always change. Anyways, here’s what I packed based on the activities my travel gals and I have planned.

For exploring the city streets, I packed breathable clothing that I can easily walk miles in without fearing sweat stains. It’s the worst feeling when you want to take a basic city picture with your arms up in the air, like you just don’t care and you can’t because of sweat pouring down.

The perfect solution for this: baggy clothing. That’s why I packed my trusty oversized Zara button-down (similar). I love how I can wear it with this skirt from H&M that transforms the outfit into minimalistic chic, or with my favorite custom pink pants. The pink pants (similar) are straight-legged wide pants and with the addition of the oversized shirt on top, the outfit morphs into a statement maximalist piece.

My favorite hack for packing is to choose tops and bottoms that can be switched interchangeably with different variations. That’s why I chose two crop tops that pair well with both the skirt and pants. This fun green H&M top is the right amount of Gen-Z. Plus, pink and green look marvelous together. The second Topshop crop top is a simple white one that’s sleeveless.

I’m packing my old Steve Madden sandals (sold out – similar) with me for their last run and they’ll go with any of these looks.

On days when we are traveling in our rental car or flying in-between cities, I packed my favorite Madewell denim shorts and Pangaia shorts. Denim looks great with any cotton shirt and my Pangaia shorts are great for a coastal hike we are planning on doing.

For the casual tops on these days, I packed a gifted tank crop top, a basic white tee, and a sleeveless Pangaia shirt that rarely needs to be washed. It’s one of those shirts that doesn’t seem to get dirty, plus, it’s crafted with an odor control finish that helps it stay fresher for longer. For these days, I packed my leather Converse high-tops that can easily be dressed up or down.

On days when we’ll be at the beach, I packed a floral pink dress (sold out) and a tan Uniqlo x JW Anderson dress (sold out – similar). Both options are great because spending days in the same dress can get boring. Plus, both are great for heading straight to the city after relaxing by the shore. As for my swimsuit, I love a nice high-waisted bikini bottom with a matching top. To protect my face from the hot sun, I plan on wearing this hat that never fails to make me laugh.

For these days, I plan on wearing my colorful Tevas. They’re easy to throw on with anything!

As for evening dinners, I plan on wearing this lovely hot pink H&M dress. I love its oversized fit and detailed ruffles along the chest. The second dress I packed is a tie-dye slip dress from Macy’s. Both are great options for late dinners and late night walks in the city streets.
